Pre-Blog 1: December 2000
*** AUTHOR’S NOTE: The following post was part of an “online journal” that Mark Sahm kept from 2000-2002 on a previous incarnation on his website Unsung Fu. Since that version no longer exists online, the entries will now be archived here. Any opinions and facts may be grossly outdated and should only be viewed for the historical value of this website and its creators.
There’s a full moon outside as I write this brief passage, and hopefully it’s a good sign. I guess it could mean I’m supposed to change into a werewolf or some sci-fi plotline. But I’m hoping it means that if you’re reading this now, then I have succeeded in getting my website online for you to view (without any unforeseen circumstances). While I expect future entries to be longer, I’m keeping this short so my points are well noted.
This website, humble as it may be, is hopefully a stepping stone in my path to bring my creative ideas to the public. I feel it has been my life’s purpose to put my pair of corroded copper coins on the table, and I am actually psyched that I know I am headed in the right direction.
Lastly, to all of the people out there who have helped me up or knocked me down, believed in me or tried to crush my dreams…. I actually thank you all. It’s made me an imaginative person firmly planted in reality’s garden, and I hope to express that dichotomy in my art. And if you fail to see all that deep stuff, I hope you can look at the things I’ve done and soak in the subtleties. Or as a last resort, let me know the site or the art looks pretty fucking cool. Because in the end, everything matters in the construction of your dreams. Peace.
